Tom Berg

–

Santa Clarita, California

Tom Berg, a man of remarkable resilience and unyielding spirit, passed away on March 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy marked by love, tenacity, and an unquenchable passion for life. Born Bernard Thomas Berg on September 18, 1942, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Tom spent his life embracing every moment, turning challenges into opportunities, and igniting joy in those around him. From his time as an alter boy in Catholic school to his years of service in the Air Force, Tom's life was a testament to his adaptability and resilience.

A natural-born salesman, Tom spent the majority of his career at Equitable Life and Casualty, where his knack for understanding and speaking to the needs of others made him a beloved figure amongst his clients and colleagues. His zest for life extended well beyond the confines of his professional world. An avid car enthusiast, Tom was a proud member of the Colorado Corvette, Nevada Corvette, and California Mustang clubs. His love for the outdoors was only matched by his passion for car races, a hobby that he pursued with vigor and delight. Tom's love for music was another defining aspect of his life. Despite being invited to join the prestigious Juilliard School for his prodigious trumpet playing, he chose a different path, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his own authentic journey.

His personal life was marked by deep love and devotion. Despite the distance between him and his eldest son, Ross, Tom carried his picture in his wallet and displayed several on his walls. His love for his family was unconditional and profound, as seen in his cherished relationship with his son Ryan, daughter-in-law Trula, and grandson Johnny. In the words of the Bible, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud... Love never fails" (1 Corinthians 13:4, 8). This verse perfectly illustrates the kind of love Tom had for his family.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Philomen Berg. His life and memory will be celebrated under the care and direction of North Valley Cremation & Funeral Services. His essence of kindness, resilience, and love will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.

We invite all who knew Tom to share their memories and upload photos on his memorial page. In doing so, we can all help keep the spirit of this extraordinary man alive for generations to come.
