Gwendolyn Cushman

Gwendolyn Sue Cushman “Mamaw,” beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away May 3rd, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family. She was a longtime resident of Rosamond, California, where she was cherished for her funny, loving, generous, and thoughtful soul.

Gwendolyn retired from Lockheed Martin in Palmdale, California, in 2012, following a long and dedicated career in the aircraft industry. Though professionally accomplished, she was perhaps best known in her community as a talented and devoted hairdresser who brought joy and confidence to her clients.

In her retirement, Gwendolyn embraced life’s simple pleasures. She found joy in cooking, cleaning, shopping, talking on the phone, and relaxing with her popcorn, her fudgesicles and favorite television shows—Friends, Two and a Half Men, House Hunters, and Dateline. Her home was a welcoming haven where family gathered often, filling the space with laughter, love, and lasting memories.

Above all, Gwendolyn’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her siblings Johnnie and Cindy; her children, Greg, Darrell (Jennifer), and Lori (Leonard); her grandchildren, Kenny (Mary), Candace (Chris), Christine (Matt), Ashley (Fabron), Eric, Hannah, and Aubrey; and her great-grandchildren, Connor, Landon, Ryder, Keira, Gwennie, Lillie, Fabron Jr., and Leo.

She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Thelma Trapp; parents, Donald Walker and Ann Reedy, and her siblings, William, Jerry, Jackie, and Mike.

Gwendolyn was a beacon of light in the world, always quick to share a laugh or lend a hand, a true testament to Matthew 5:16, "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Her legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
