Jorge I. Castro

Valencia, California

In Loving Memory of Captain Jorge I. Castro

August 16, 1940 – July 4, 2026

Jorge I Castro, lovingly known by family and friends as “Coco,” was born on August 16, 1940, in Piura, Peru. From an early age, the sea called to him, and he dedicated much of his life to the profession he loved most commercial fishing.

A respected fisherman, Jorge spent decades navigating the Pacific Ocean, earning the admiration of those who worked beside him. His life at sea was one of courage, discipline, and resilience, but his greatest pride was always his family.

Above all else, Jorge was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a man whose kindness, humility, and unwavering work ethic touched everyone who knew him. He believed in leading by example, teaching the values of respect, integrity, unity, and perseverance. His stories of the sea, his quiet wisdom, and his generous heart will remain cherished memories for generations to come.

On July 4, 2026, Jorge peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of love, sacrifice, and strength.

He is lovingly survived by his seven children:
    •    Eloy Castro
    •    Marvin Moncada
    •    Evelin Aguilar
    •    Carlos Castro
    •    Tony Castro
    •    Carmen Castro
    •    Claudia Castro

He also leaves behind grandchildren, extended family, dear friends, and countless lives that were enriched by his kindness and gentle spirit.

Though his final voyage has come to an end, Coco’s legacy lives on in every life he touched, every lesson he taught, and every memory shared by those who loved him.

Fair winds and following seas, Captain. Your watch is complete, but your love will guide us forever.
