Lucille Monzo

Lucille Monzo was born as Lucille Carey on January 15th 1938 in Camden New Jersey. She met Joseph Monzo at the age of 14 and they were married when Lucille was 15 years old. Lucille had her first child when she was 16 years old. She went on to have 5 more children before the age of 24. After marrying, they traveled across the US to California between each child, following Joe's family for work opportunities. Each child was born in New Jersey except for Barbara Ann who was born in California but sadly died at the age of 6 months.
Lucille trained as a nurse and worked in pediatrics. She loved her career but gave it up to be a stay at home mom to her 4 young children. Lucille was a devoted wife and mother. She was always there when you needed her & even when you didn't 😁. All the neighborhood kids called her mom and would hang out at our house. She was president of the PTA and came to every school program. She made sure all the school carnivals were perfect, even though she battled health problems from an early age. From cancer at 23 years old to early onset of arthritis. She had many surgeries & much illness, but anyone who knew her never knew because she never complained or canceled a function.
Lucille loved her family and cared deeply for her friends. But most of all, she had a deep love & faith in Jesus, who she always said kept her going through it all. She will be and is missed deeply by all who were fortunate to know her. But we know she is with the God she loves and, we who believe, will see her again.
