In the early morning hours of June 20, 2026, we bade a heartfelt farewell to Shawn Lemell Holden, whose life was a testament to the beauty of compassion, generosity, and unyielding love. Born in the vibrant city of Memphis, Tennessee on January 27, 1966, Shawn, fondly referred to as "Rocc" by those who knew him best, emerged into this world to leave an indelible mark on the hearts of many. His radiant smile, coupled with an infectious positivity, made him the beacon of light in the lives of his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.

Shawn was a man of inspiration, a guide that led not by words, but by actions. His generosity extended beyond material things, as he generously gave his time, love, and wisdom to those around him. He was a magnetic force, one that drew people in with his warmth and kept them close with his kindness. His life was a living embodiment of the quote, "Family isn't an important thing. It's everything." For Shawn, family was the anchor that held him steady amidst the chaos of life. His devotion to his family was unyielding, his love for them boundless.

Shawn leaves behind an adoring family who will carry forward his legacy of love and generosity. He is survived by his daughter, LaShawnda; his father, Andrew Holden and mother, Katie Holden; his sisters, Devery, Letecia, Tameka, and Sonja; his brother, Tarek; Uncle Syl. cousins, Jamal, Rene, and Michael; his nieces, Gina (Aaron), Anya, Jasmine and Khaja; his nephew, Corey and Caden; his grandniece and grandnephews, Honor'Edore, Elijah, Daniel, and Cameron; his second-cousin, Zion; and his beloved granddaughter, Kali Manuella Mae Taylor. These and many more will forever remember his inspiring spirit, his compassionate heart, and his loving soul. Shawn's care and services are under the direction of North Valley Cremation & Funeral Services.
