Tati Sumarti Sando

–

Valencia , California

With a spirit as vibrant as her cherished homeland of Bandung, Indonesia, Tati Sumarti Sando, affectionately known as Tatat or simply Tati, was a woman who lived life to its fullest and left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Born on August 6th, 1964, Tati Sumarti's spirit took flight on May 25th, 2024. She was an adventurous soul, her resilience and generosity was like a beacon, lighting up the lives of all who knew her. As Mark Twain once said, "Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see." This quote could not be more fitting for a woman like Tati Sando, who radiated kindness and empathy in every aspect of her life.

Tati Sando spent her younger years in Bandung, Indonesia before making the adventurous journey to Santa Clarita, California, where she made her home for the last 23 years. She embraced life fully, never shying away from trying new things. This was evident in her love for skateboarding, riding motorcycles, and trying new restaurants. She was a bus driver by profession, but she was so much more than that. She was a friend to all, a generous soul who loved to feed people, and a resilient woman who faced life's challenges with a smile. Tati Sando was a woman of many talents, her nimble fingers could create warmth, not only through her delicious food, but also through the beautiful pieces she knitted.

Tati Sando is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, John Sando, her dear sister Tuti Sumiati, her brother-in-law Iskandar Saleh, and her niece Krista Iskandar. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Tarita Lee, and her parents, Sumarsono and Empat Subiyati. Tati Sando’s infectious laughter, her love for good food and her steadfast belief in the importance of relationships will continue to live on in the heart of all who knew her.

As we bid farewell to our beloved Tati Sando, we invite you to share your precious memories and photos of her on the memorial page. Let's celebrate the life of this generous, resilient, empathetic and adventurous woman, who touched so many lives with her kindness and love. Remember, as Emily Dickinson said, "Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality." In our hearts, Tati Sando will always live on.
