Vincent Scordia

On 21st of June, 2026, we lost an incomparable soul, Vincent Enzo Scordia. Born on the 29th of September, 1934, in Messina, Sicily, Italy, Vincent's life was a testament to the adventurous spirit, the creative flame, the echo of laughter, and the ripple of inspiration. He embodied the words of the poet Maya Angelou, "My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style."

Vincent's journey took him from the picturesque landscapes of Sicily to the bustling cityscape of Montréal, Quebec, where he began his family. A true entrepreneur, he found his passion as a barber, a trade that allowed his creativity and humour to shine. In 1969, he moved his family to Santa Monica, California, a place that would become home. His life in Southern California, including residences in Santa Monica, Crestline, Fallbrook, Newbury Park, and Castaic, was filled with the beauty of change and the comfort of familiarity. A lover of Italian cuisine, Vincent was an avid cook, a testament to his roots and his love for the comforts of home. His creative pursuits extended to painting and sculpting, activities that showcased his inspiring talent. He was also a skilled gardener and landscaper, transforming his backyard into a haven of tranquility.

In addition to his achievements in his professional life, Vincent was a two-term President of the Italian Club Oceanside chapter in San Diego County, a role that allowed him to foster a sense of community and shared heritage. Above all, Vincent held a deep-rooted belief that living a life of high moral standards and taking care of his family was paramount. He demonstrated this through his unwavering dedication to his family and his commitment to integrity. He is survived by his son, Frank Scordia, his daughter, Angela Hall, his daughter-in-law, Jen Scordia, and his grandson, Dino Scordia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guiseppe and Francesca Scordia.
